Ryan Mcguigan
Director, Green Apple (Winnipeg, MB)
What were some of the difficulties of the STT weekend?
Earth, Wind, Water and Fire; since a trick takes an
average of 3.5 seconds and we shot 1000 feet of film, we should've been able to
capture 476 tricks, but since the four elements made more of an appearance than
the hired talent, we ended up with like, six moves.
What sort of schedule did you keep?
When the sun would rise, so would we. When the sun would
set, we drank blood.
What was the team’s overall strategy and goals?
We took a similar approach to one Adolf Hitler, without
all that genocide mumbo jumbo.
Whose performance stood out the most so far?
Each member of our team is a waste of space. I'm
embarrassed to call them my friends.
Was it hard to motivate anybody?
Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and
you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.
How much did alcohol play a part in your weekend?
Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says
love your enemy.
Were there times when you felt that you might not come
out of this with a working product?
Yes.
Was morale low at any point, and if so, why?
The highly civilized man can endure incomparably more
than the savage, whether of moral or physical strain. Being better able to
control himself under all circumstances, he has a great advantage over the
savage.
What do you think is the key to success with this type
undertaking?
Eighty percent of success is showing up. The other 20 is
floating along the electromagnetic waves of the universe.
Did your team wing it or plan it out?
John Lennon once said: "Life happens when you're
making plans."
