What were some of the difficulties of the STT weekend?
Well, there was two days of rain thanks to hurricane Gustav, Nazi cop kick-outs,
a partially functional generator, and waking up early.
What were some of the highlights?
There were fireworks, gasoline fires, and having a relaxed skate session
at the Burton warehouse, with a nice, long ledge to skate on. Thanks Jon!
What do you foresee concerning the editing process upcoming?
I see zero sleeping for a week, so I’ll have take acid and lose it!
Did any guest skaters make it out?
Yeah, Kyle killed it!
Where there times when you felt that you might not come out of this with
a working product?
Of course! I had a few panic attacks.
Was moral low at any point, and if so, why?
Sometimes, it did yeah. The rain bummed us out.
From your team’s perspective, what is Shoot to Thrill all about?
And, how did you incorporate that into your idea for what you intend to show?
For us, it wasn't necessarily about the tricks; it was more about
filmmaking and skateboarding.
Whose personality was the strongest or seemed to stand out the most?
That would have to be Josh Clark. He’s always stoked on everything,
taking everything out of the van and re-organizing it to maximize space. He’s
always wanting to light off fireworks or light shit on fire.
What were your expectations before the weekend, and how did they change
as the weekend progressed??We just wanted to maximize fun and minimize stress, so it ended up being
half and half.
Individually and in a few words, how would you characterize yourself and
each member on your team?
We all got along really well. Everyone was easy going and really
organized and down for everything. Josh was really hyper and really
convenient and down to light himself on fire if I wanted him to.
Geoff drove the entire time so he couldn't drink, we'd get back home really
late and he'd force me to go out and spend all my money. Kyle was baked the
whole time and got the sessions started. Justin was a really cool guy and down
for everything, while Andrew was really chill, except for stealing my beer and
my shotgun status.
